Last night, John and I tried Sex Bomb together and it was fantastic! The smell was soothing and relaxing, a mix of jasmine and roses, meant to work as an aphrodisiac and, well, it did ;) We both enjoyed it minus a cramped bathtub!

Sex bomb turns the water a lovely shade of pink! The smell and the color outlasted our time in the tub!

Unfortunately, the cute little paper flower didn't last!

graduation dressing!

It's official! I'm a graduate of The University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts! 4 years of hard work, school work and lots of fun and I finally made it! My parents, family and boyfriend are beaming with pride at my Magna Cum Lade honors, and I couldn't be happier myself! Everything is falling into place; life is wonderful! Graduation, while super long (3 and a half hours) was beautiful and inspiring. The Dalai Lama of all people was our speaker! How cool is that?! I feel so accomplished, and the party's only just begun! Dinner tonight with John and my friends, then Library and maybe Sally's? Above is the graduation dress I wore with shoes and jewelry (right) and what I'm wearing tonight (left). The jewelry, all being presents from my parents except for the I love you bracelet and open circle earrings from John, are the most incredible pieces I've ever had the luxury of owning and I'll never stop wearing it! I'm so happy! Have a wonderful night, everyone! I know I will :)

unlucky friday the 13th

Time for a super long post! Blogger has been down for what seems like forever, and I have lots to update! Yesterday I received my shipment of Lush products that I had been waiting for! Usually I'd just go to the Mall of America to buy them, but it's a tiny store, and MOA can be dangerous when you don't want to spend too much money! It came surprisingly fast considering it shipped from Vancouver, and I'm in love with everything I ordered!

The thing I was waiting for most today was John, and John couldn't come at his scheduled time. He's taking the red eye here tonight at 3AM because of scheduling conflicts. I know he's still coming, going on vacation with me and I'll have him all to myself the rest of the summer, but even a few hours feels like forever to wait! I can't believe tomorrow is graduation. These four years have gone so ridiculously fast, I can't believe it. I've had so many opportunities to grow as a person in college, and I'm truly a different girl than when I started. I fell in love, fell out of love, got straight A's, did a semester abroad, and fell in love again. These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today.

Now some lovely Lush products pictures!

One thing I adore about Lush is their commitment to a better world. They support a variety of charities, only use organic products that are mostly vegan, they refuse animal testing and they care about the planet. I love how they used old Lush catalogs from Christmas and Thanksgiving for packaging!

Go buy Mask of Magnaminty. Do it now. I've used it three times since yesterday and I'm in love! It smells heavenly--like mint-- and it makes your skin super super soft! I am definitely making this my regular mask/cleanser!

I had never tried lip scrubs before Mint Julips, and it's wonderful! it smells like mint and chocolate, and it really does make your lips soft and smooth! Just rub some on your lips to peel off dead skin (I want to try it with chapped lips!) that makes your lips dry and rough!

Fizzbanger is my favorite bath bomb that Lush makes! It smells like apples and cinnamon, and has cute little touches to it like turning your bath water yellow, then blue, then green, and it contains a little piece of paper that says BANG! on the inside of it that you see when you drain the tub! The bath bombs don't look very pretty in the bag, but I'm not taking them out till I use them for fear of them crumbling everywhere!

I've never used Sex Bomb before, but I'm certainly excited to try it with John tomorrow night ;) It smells like jasmine, and has a tiny paper flower that opens up when it gets wet! Seeing a bunch of pictures and reviews on Tumblr made me want to try it, and now I can!

Lastly, Butterball! Again, I've never tried this one, but it's Lush's best seller, so I figured I'd see what all the buzz was about! Butterball smells like vanilla, which is one of my absolute favorite scents! I'm so excited to try it!

Little surprise free samples of Banana Moon Soap and Gingerman Sexy Body Soap! I'm told they usually include free samples with orders, which I love! Lush really cares for their customers while promoting other wonderful products!

Lastly, an old colleague and friend of mine, New York Ranger Derek "Boogeyman" Boogaard was found dead today in Minneapolis. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Goodbye, Boogeyman. You are loved.

tiptoe through the tulips

Today was absolutely drop dead gorgeous! It was 88 degrees and sunny, (the first 80 of the year!) and although slightly humid, still wonderful! Above is my early dinner from today, due to a final tonight at 6. I cooked the salmon too long, and the noodles were kind of chewy, but I've been stuffed for hours! Around 2, I took a walk around my parents' neighborhood this afternoon and took some lovely flower shots in Riley Lake Park in Eden Prairie. I remember biking there almost every day after school and playing volleyball, pond hockey and frisbee out on the beach. It's one of the little things I'm going to miss most about Minnesota when I move to Chicago.

dancing through life

You may or may not be aware that I am, and always have been a dancer. It's hard to put into words how much I love it. Making shapes and movements that are beautiful with my body gives me the biggest thrill and sense of accomplishment I could possibly feel. I love how every dance has it's own story; a message behind it that makes you feel something. I love the feeling after you complete a movement that you've been tiring over for days. I love the connection I feel with myself and the world when I dance. I love every minute of it.

I've included some shots from one of my performances with Breaking Boundaries Dance Co. at The Southern Theatre in Minneapolis. Enjoy!

The Drumming Song

The Drumming Song

rainy monday

I'm absolutely obsessed with Gaga's new single, The Edge of Glory! I've been dancing around my living room for the last half an hour with Laine, having an absolute blast of a dance party! We couldn't be more excited for Born This Way coming out in just a couple weeks--i.e. lots of hairbrush singing and crazy dance moves!

This morning I did the usual run and corepower yoga. It was a super rainy morning, but I almost prefer running in the rain to not. Rainy mornings are super invigorating for me. Ever since I can remember I've always loved thunderstorms, rain and lightning. I'd sit on the balcony outside my room and just watch the world. I find this super relaxing, and I also can't get enough of sleeping with the window open when it's rainy outside. At 1:00, I had my first final for a class where I work as a teacher's assistant in a Spanish Immersion school in south Minneapolis. It was a total breeze, with mostly opinion questions, but unfortunately, now I have a bit of a false sense of security for my next 3 finals this week.

Tonight--in honor of the rainy weather--Laine, Lauren, Katie and I are going to Brit's Pub in Minneapolis for drinks and dinner. Scotch eggs, (hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage and bread crumbs, then deep fried) an aubergine tart, (roasted eggplant, tomatoes, spinach, yellow peppers and herbs baked in pastry with mozzarella on top) and bread pudding sound heavenly right now! Maybe we'll even lawn bowl if it's not too rainy! Overall, today has been great! I was even surprised with Britney Spears/Nicki Minaj floor seats at the X from my cousins! JULY 6TH!

So here it goes... my first blogspot post! I am attempting to switch from Tumblr to blogspot, but kind of failing. If anyone can figure out how to make my blog look prettier tell me ;) I had this pasta with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, parmesan and a chipotle sauce with a breadstick yesterday for supper from Harvest Thyme Bistro, and man was it great! I'm super excited for this week! First off, Twins game on Thursday night with a few friends, then GRADUATION on Saturday! Followed by my grad dinner on Sunday and taking off for Jamaica on Monday with my roommate, her family and my boyfriend! More to come!
